Going to school and growing up in a different environment from your familial and cultural background can be a struggle for young people. At times you can feel conflicted, perhaps smothered at home or pressured by your peers. Sometimes, you just can keep up with all the new societal rules and manners outside your home, and learning in a new language can set you behind. I take a client centered sensitive approach to helping you with multicultural transitional issues.
Coming from a South Asian background, I’m particularly eager to help communities with this population and focus on multicultural transition issues. I also have a strong affiliation with those of an Islamic background and can offer counseling services with an open mind. I am culturally sensitive, fluent in Bengali, Hindi, Urdu and Spanish, and offer a highly personalized approach to meet my client’s individual needs.
